Kampunu School re-build 2016
Kampunu School is in a rural farming area south of Monze. It is reached by a unpaved road which is in a very poor condition. The old school was 2 thatched classrooms. The Department of Education asked us to help rebuild the school. It was a whole community project, everyone got involved from making bricks and crushing stones to carrying water. This was the second school we built a 3 new classroom block.
We refurbished 2 teachers houses funded by Bridgend Quakers.
We drilled a bore hole and established a school garden.
In 2019 we installed a solar water pump and taught Sanitation and Hygiene at the school.
In 2018 we worked with Giakonda Solar Schools to put solar panels on the school roof to run laptops.
