Permaculture Gardening

We plan to establish a large garden in every school where we work.  The gardens will be places of learning not only for the pupils and teachers but also for the whole community.

In 2018 and 2019 Friends of Monze provided training for 10 local farmers, including Warren,  from Zambia Women and Girls Foundation, to become permaculture gardening trainers. Here they are learning to make bokashi, a fermented soil enhancer. They are now demonstrating what they learned in their own gardens, and teaching other farmers to grow food using home made bokashi saving the expense of buying commercial chemical fertiliser.

Videos demonstrated water management to prevent soil erosion.
