Lushomo School Permaculture Garden
September 2014. To great celebration FOM financed a bore hole drilled in the grounds of Lushomo school. The water was needed to build the school, to irrigate the crops, provide fresh drinking water for the children, improve hygiene etc.
In December 2014 FoM sponsored a week of permaculture design training.
The community planted fruit trees in the grounds of Lushomo school. The permaculture garden is will act as a model garden for the community to try new methods for growing food. The project is being led by The Parent Teacher Association(PTA) and local community.
Compost toilets
We have built 2 compost toilets for the school children. These brick built toilets ensure privacy and help to decrease disease. The crops will be fertisilised by this water free method of waste disposal.
